What Are Limit Gauges?

圖片
What Are Limit Gauges? Limit gauges are used to check the dimensions of a manufactured component. As gauges are without scale, we are unable to use it to determine the actual size of dimensions of parts. They are different from a conventional measuring tool. We use a limit gauge to inspect whether a work piece is within the specified tolerance. They are also often known as a Go and No-Go gauge. A principle of using such gauges, is for the Go end to be used to check that the dimension of the part passes inspection. On the other hand, the No-Go gauge should not be able to pass the same dimension of the part. It serves as a check when a measured part fails inspection.   Go and No-Go Gauge The Go- and No-Go gauges are produced according to the dimensions of the manufactured component. The Go gauge is usually equivalent to the minimum permissible dimension of the component. The No Go gauge is equivalent to the maximum permissible dimension of the measured component.   ...

How OEM Gauge Suppliers Support Private Label Metrology Brands

Understanding the Role of OEM Gauge Suppliers What is OEM Gauge Support? OEM gauge suppliers provide essential tools, expertise, and resources to private label metrology brands. They help in product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance processes, establishing a seamless bridge between concept and market. The Importance of Quality Assurance Private label brands rely on OEM gauge suppliers to guarantee that their products meet industry standards. This includes regular testing and calibration to ensure accuracy and reliability in measurements. Step-by-Step Guide to Collaborating with OEM Suppliers First Step: Identify Your Needs Before reaching out to an OEM gauge supplier, assess your specific requirements. This involves: Determining the types of gauges needed (e.g., GO/NO GO plug gauges). Defining the volume of products required. Setting quality and compliance standards relevant to your industry. Second Step: Research Potential Suppliers Conduct in-depth research on variou...

Definition of Ring Gauge

圖片
Definition of Ring Gauge   Ring gauge  is a metrology tool that is used for verifying the outer diameter of pins, shafts, splines, fasteners, dowels, studs, and other machined cylindrical parts. It is typically cylindrical in shape and is fabricated from a stable material (usually tool steel) with a highly precise (very high tolerance) bore in the center. The primary function of a ring gauge is to establish on a go-go basis whether the part being tested falls within the dimensional tolerance that was specified for it. The use of a ring gauge enables the user to make accurate assessments during the acceptance inspections very quickly without the need to use micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges, or other measuring instruments that could take longer to generate a result.   ...

What are the different types and uses of plug gauges?

圖片
Plug gauge, also known as  pin gauge , is a metrology tools which is used to measure the inner diameter of a hole that has been drilled or machined into a manufactured part, component, or assembly. This is an essential tool for quality control, and it enables the inspectors, machinists, manufacturing engineers, and others to quickly obtain a go/no-go decision about whether the inner diameter being measured falls within the specified dimensional tolerance. This measuring process is designed to allow accurate assessments to be made without the need for the production personnel to use an addition of more sophisticated and/or more expensive measuring instruments such as inside micrometers. In production operations, where a large volume of parts is being produced, plug gauges provide a rapid means of assessing the quality without taking time to perform actual hole diameter measurements and to set-up instrumentation.   When using  plug gauges , it is important to acknowl...

Radius Gages Explained

圖片
Radius gages are fairly selfexplanatory and simple to use. These measurement tools are used on a number of different objects like hinges, tools, taps, and dies. They are used to measure existing radii, which is a critical operation when it comes to applications such as pattern making, precision machining, layout creation, and part inspection. In this article, we’ll explore the main applications in which a machinist would need a radius gage set and break down how to accurately use the tool. As always, we will wrap up with our top model...

What are the different types and uses of pin gauges?

Metric pin gauge and imperial pin gauge 1. metric  pin gauge : specifications range 0.10mm ~ 50.00mm; interval: 0.005mm 0.01mm 0.02mm 0.025mm 0.05mm 0.10mm 0.50mm 1.00mm, etc.; accuracy ± 0.001mm ± 0.002mm ± 0.0005mm, etc. 2. inch pin gauge: specification range 0.011in ~ 1.000in; interval 0.001in; accuracy ± 0.001mm ± 0.002mm + 0.0025     The use of pin gauge.  Production of each product parts, first whether the tolerance size has been decided, in the upper limit and lower limit tolerance control range. Use GO (through gauge);  NO-GO gauge  (stop gauge) of the tolerance method of the gauge to implement management. For small production quantities, it is possible to reduce the cost of purchasing gauges and become proficient in their operation. It is easy to obtain the interchangeability of products, and it is very helpful in the field or in the inspection room for quality and yield improvement. In mass production, a gauge ...

How to Use the Pin Gauge

圖片
What Is A Pin Gauge A pin gauge is a round bar with specific dimensions made of white steel, tool steel, ceramic, tungsten bearing steel, etc. or other materials with high hardness. It is a standardized inspection tool for holes. Appearance forms are smooth pin gauge, pin gauge with shank, titanium plated  pin gauge ,  ceramic pin gauge , and etc.. It is widely used in various fields of high precision technology such as electronic boards, circuit boards, molds and precision machinery manufacturing.   Pin Gauge Set   How to Use the Pin Gauge 1. Check the measuring surface before use, there should be no rust, phi, scratches, black spots, etc.; the mark of the pin gauge should be correct and clear. 2. Remove the anti-rust oil, dust, adhesion, phi in the hole before measurement. 3. Wear gloves to operate the pin gauge according to the operation principle. 4.  The role of the pin gauge  must be in the cycle of calibration per...
